A title attribute is a title for a link on your website. You can compare it to the alt tag for an image.
Such a title allows you to put some extra information with a link about the destination page. This title attribute appears when you hover over the link with your mouse (see the image above). This gives Google some extra information concerning the destination of the link.

The page to which this link redirects gets more value in the eyes of Google for the words used in the title attribute.

This way you will see that the article behind this page (and talks about Google Adwords) will get more value from Google concerning these words. When someone goes into Google and searches for the words “What is Google Adwords”, chances are my article will show higher up in the Google Search results.
How to make a title attribute in WordPress?
Select a piece of text, usually a couple of words, which you want to make clickable and redirect to a certain page and click the link icon in your WordPress editor.
Fill out the following in the fields:
- The URL of the page you want to link to
- The title tag or attribute you want to give this page
- Choose whether or not you want the link to open in a new tab
- Click ‘Add link‘
